The inspiration for Riddle On Her Mind was a March 2020 Entertainment Tonight article that attempted to discuss the contributing factors of *NSYNC’s breakup. The timeframe in the article wasn’t very clear and some of the details didn’t seem accurate, so I took it upon myself to start doing some digging.

This account is a visual archive for my research—news articles, gossip posts, web pages, and anything else that documents the breakup, starting with the early rumors of solo projects in 2001. My research timeline traces the group’s gradual unraveling over the course of the "hiatus", the private fracture in 2004 that was never formally acknowledged or addressed by the group, and also any relevant retrospective insights that may add context to what happened.
